OUR COMMITMENT TO INCLUSION, DIVERSITY, EQUITY, & ANTI-RACISm

Do Good Multnomah recognizes the diverse experiences, skills, and backgrounds of all employees and program participants while acknowledging the intersectional identities of marginalized groups. At Do Good, we value all people without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, age, marital status, sexual orientation, disability, political affiliation, personal appearance, family responsibilities, matriculation, Veteran status, or discharge status.

Creating A PLACE FOR EVERYONE AT DO GOOD

  • We recognize the multiple barriers that exist for the houseless community within conventional shelters, and we strive to remove them, prioritizing accessibility and creating an environment that welcomes and supports all individuals.

  • As we actively cultivate diverse voices in trainings, planning, and policy, we expand beyond  traditional solutions to homelessness. This enables our staff to both contribute their unique talents and center their own lived experience as we serve our program participants.-hands-on-deck efforts, they reflect our love for this city and the people in it.

IDEA TEAM

Do Good Multnomah established the “Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, & Anti-Racism” (IDEA) Team, which is comprised of staff members from various departments, backgrounds, and experiences. The team uses equity lens to launch and support affinity groups and provide spaces for organizational feedback.

The IDEA Team brings the valuable perspective of lived experience, allowing them to effectively engage and better support direct-service staff, including those who have encountered houselessness, substance use, mental health challenges, or have military experience. The IDEA team works diligently to ensure Do Good employees feel heard and represented in the workplace.

This is the foundation that will allow us to keep taking steps for racial equity and equity for all historically marginalized groups. But there still is more to DO, simply because this work will never be done.
